Email security for the age of AI

AegisAI is an email security platform that uses AI agents to stop AI-driven spear phishing across Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

Attackers now use AI to gather details about a target’s co-workers, projects and travel, then write messages that look authentic. Rule-based filters built on “if-then” logic are too slow and too limited to catch them. AegisAI’s agents read each message the way a person would and pick up the small anomalies a checklist misses, including malicious PDF attachments locked behind passwords or CAPTCHAs to slip past spam filters.

The platform installs through an API and automates detection and incident response for security teams replacing legacy email security tools. Customers include Mesh, LangChain and Lokker.

Founded in 2025 by former Google security executives Cy Khormaee and Ryan Luo, who worked on Safe Browsing and reCAPTCHA, AegisAI raised a $36 million Series A led by Battery Ventures in July 2026, with Accel and Foundation Capital, bringing its total funding to $49 million.
